# Caelis Character Asset License 1.0

This license applies only to files identified with this license in
`resources/character-pack.json`: the Caelis character model, character avatar,
brand icons and accompanying character attribution. It does not apply to
application source code, which remains Apache-2.0, or to separately licensed assets.

Permission is granted, without fee, to:

1. Use these assets within Caelis Bot, including local builds and forks.
2. Copy and locally modify them for personal use, development, testing and CI.
3. Redistribute the **unmodified** finished assets bundled with Caelis Bot or a
   fork of its application code, provided this license and the character attribution
   are included. No private modeling sources are granted or required.
4. Show the bundled character in screenshots, demonstrations and documentation
   about Caelis Bot or the distributing fork, identifying modifications to the app
   and without implying official endorsement.

Other uses require separate permission from the relevant rights holder. In
particular this license does not permit selling or distributing the assets as a
standalone asset pack, publishing modified character assets, using them in an
unrelated product, or presenting the character or Caelis branding as your own.
Distribution of a fork's application code under Apache-2.0 is unaffected; a fork
may replace these assets with its own separately licensed resources.

This is a limited asset-use license, not an open-source license for the character.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved. No trademark rights, endorsement,
or rights in underlying third-party reference art are granted. The attribution
in `frontend/public/models/caelis-SOURCES.md` remains part of the distribution.
This license does not revoke any rights validly granted under an earlier license.

THE ASSETS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE EXTENT
PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE CONTRIBUTORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR CLAIMS OR DAMAGES
